Most people farm 8-7. It has very good value for world energy (recruits and materials). The early season 2 stages aren't bad, but I'd say 2800+ to get semi-far without too many problems. You can get by with less by using two healers etc - really depends on your team.

The real deal is 2.1.9 normal. At some point tc11 will just become too slow and you will need about 350 backpacks per week or 1400 per month to keep a tc2 going. 2.1.9 also gives a decent amount of recruits. Tldr: 2.1.9 is best. (Season 2, 1-9 normal) Doesn't feel like it at first but it is. 2.
